How Plants Affect Our Lives.
Throughout history, plants have played a vital role in supporting us in many different ways e.g. food, medicines, clothing, housing, furniture, fuel and cosmetics. In addition, they also provide work for millions of people in both agriculture and horticulture worldwide. .
Whilst we recognise the obvious connections between the fruit or vegetables we eat and the plant where it comes from, there are many others where the origin of the plant materials used is not obvious.
This talks looks to illuminate the different ways people and plants are connected. It is suitable for anyone who is interested in plants or ethnobotany- the relationship between plants and people. It has been given to a variety of groups including Hilliers, Hampshire Wildlife Trust as well as many WI's, U3A and horticultural groups.
