A seashore foraging course took place in Dorset on Saturday 30th July 2011. Over 20 potentially edible sea plants, excluding seaweeds, were found, including the highly desirably Marsh Samphire. This 'poor man's asparagus' used to be so cheap that fishmongers would give it as a freebie to his fish-buying customers. However, nowadays, it has become more exclusive and it was even presented to Prince Charles and Princess Diana at their royal wedding breakfast in 1981.
